Shanon Hoag

Shannon first met the Dogs working on The Green Bird, playing the stony and yet questionably clothed Pompea. While extremely daunting, thrilling, and fun, this initial Strawdog experience secured many things in her life—a deep love for the company, a great respect for Strawdog’s place in Chicago’s theatrical community, and a wonderful husband. Not bad.

Shannon is a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University (Much love Dr. Ficca), and has also completed studies at The National Theatre Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, The Moscow Art Theatre, and The London Academy of Theatre. While extremely daunting, thrilling, and fun, this global academic odyssey also secured many things in her life—big love for Mother Russia, a schizophrenic blend of theatrical interests, and a lifelong aversion to beets.

Shannon has had the pleasure of working with some great companies, including Visions and Voices (The Devil’s Sonata), Breadline, and Clark Island Shakespeare, and has done voice-over work around town. She also serves as Strawdog’s Press Relations Coordinator.

Originally from Batavia, Ill., a town famous for Fermilab, windmills, and The Becky, Shannon loves her new home in Chicago, her wonderful family and friends, and whatever comes next.
