Strawdog holds auditions per production and accepts headshots and resumes throughout the year. 

It is very important that we have current contact information. Please notify us any time you change your telephone number or union status.

BIPOC Playwright Residency

(New Play Development for BIPOC Playwrights)

Every year we will choose one Playwright and provide them with tools to develop a new play. We will accept submissions whether you have a few pages, a full draft or just an idea.

We will provide:

  • A $750 Playwright stipend

  • Rehearsal & Performance Space

  • A Public Reading (Spring)

  • Director, Dramaturg, Stage Manager and Up to six (6) Actors

  • Three (3) weeks of workshops spread out between Fall, Winter and Spring.

You will need…

  • Elevator Pitch: Six (6) or less sentences about the play you’d like to workshop

  • Draft of the script or detailed description of the plot

  • Up to two (2) writing samples: 1-5 pages per sample of the play you are submitting or previous work
