Becca Levy was delighted to join Strawdog’s ensemble with the class of 2018! The first show she stage managed with Strawdog, D.O.A., was the final show in Hugen Hall, Strawdog’s old home on Broadway. She knew immediately that Strawdog would be an artistic home for her in Chicago.
She continued to work with Strawdog through a major transition, stage managing Distance and Cymbeline in season 29, while we were in between spaces, before being asked to join the staff as Production Manager for season 30. She has been honored and excited to help Strawdog grow as we settle into our new home on Berenice.
Becca is a freelance stage manager, production manager, and teaching artist, and has worked with various fantastic Chicago theatre companies, including Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Emerald City Theatre, Jackalope Theatre Company, Red Theater, and Pinebox Theatre Company, and she was the Company Stage Manager for the winter 2017 run of Potted Potter with Starvox Touring and Seabright Productions at Broadway in Chicago’s Broadway Playhouse. She is also the PSM of the Opera Program at Northeastern Illinois University.
Outside of Chicago, Becca has worked on stage management teams at Networks Touring Presentations and Famers Alley Theatre.
“Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you, spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life. No one is here today because they did it on their own.” — Queen of the world, Amy Poehler
